The novel coronavirus has hit the entire US with speed and accuracy. Mississippi has always been slow to follow national trends, with a Stay-In-Place order being one of them. 
It has become clear our current closures and social distancing are not working as they should. The general public has not taken staying at home and distancing from others as seriously as they should. A stay-in-place order could help significantly curve the rate of active infection. This, in turn, will lower the incoming wave of critically ill patients that are soon to overwhelm our states medical facilities and health care workers. 
I am urging our state leaders to show they are competent leaders who are swift in decision making that could save lives and lesson the severity of how affected the state of Mississippi will be. 
Along with ordering statewide stay-in-place orders, I would also like to urge the state defer utilities, rent, and mortgages- in support with the federal government. 
shelter- in- place is needed this week, but was needed before this as well! Please, state elected officials- support the wellness and recovery of Mississippi. Place a Stay-in-Place order. The Surgeon General has accounted what is to come this week. Please help keep your state from being hit harder than it is by this pandemic.
