Sumit Shekhar started this petition to Tata Consultancy Services and

After passing 12th, I have joined NIIT for a diploma course in software. Simultaneously I got to know that, there is degree course offered by Kuvempu University registered under UCG from NIIT as a distance learning program. I have cleared all my semesters for both my diploma and degree. But while searching job in some of the MNCs, they are asking candidates to have full time education and will not accept candidates with Distance Learning graduates.

One of the biggest Indian company TCS has this policy in place. In a country like India where people has to start working at the very early stage for survival, how could everyone can attend the regular college/university to complete their education. Does it mean that people who have completed their education via regular college are efficient and people with distance learning are inefficient?

This trend is increasing in many MNCs now a days. I worked with CAPGEMINI for few years and when I joined this policy was not their but now they also have this policy in place. Don't know how it will make a difference in relation to the work that I used to do vs now if I want to rejoin but I can't join them because of their new policy. This policy has to be revoked in India by the government.
