A ten-year-old child faces felony animal cruelty charges in Fort Worth, Texas for the alleged beating of a Cavalier spaniel with a stick, reports dfw.cbslocal.com.

Mistakenly reported as being 11-years-old, the news that the child is only ten has been described as "cringeworthy."

On Thursday, the unnamed child, because of his age, will face charges of delinquent conduct, and felony animal cruelty torture.

The sweet dog named Cookie was chased into a corner and beaten by the child on Monday. A neighbor witnessed the dog hiding under a pickup truck with the child kicking at the dog. The dog's body was discovered on the porch of the neighbor's home. Cookie died as a result of a cracked skull and severed spine.

According to a neighbor, she witnessed the dog being let out of the backyard, chased with a stick and then beaten to death. Cookie did not provoke the attack nor did the child have any bite marks on his body

Cookie's owner, Jennifer Knittel wants the child to get the help he obviously needs, but still wants him to be punished. Many Serial Killers start this way No Empathy, Torture and kill animals get it down then Graduate to Humans...We cannot stand for this.
