Target Canada announced the closing of its Canadian Operations which will create a major gap in the Canadian retail environment.

Target was just rounding the corner in Canada. Since the shelves are now well stocked customers are just beginning to recognize that Target's uniquely elegant ‎pristine stores and excellent customer service border on a spa-like respite from the clutter and frenetic chaos of all other shopping options.

Target took on Walmart and the battle is far from over.

This petition is directed at Target executives saying that we Canadians are sorry we let you down, we got off on the wrong foot, and we can do better. We understand you might need to close some outlets or let's say maybe 50 % of them... but don't give up on us so soon. We are begging for a chance to make this right. It took some time to get to know each other, but now that we do, this feels like you're defensively detaching from us.

Please reconsider entirely pulling out of the great white ‎north. Keep a handful of flagship Canadian stores in your most densely populated markets. Retain the cultural capital you have earned thus far and don't surrender the spoils to Walmart!

It can take time to get to know each other, ‎but we the under signed pledge to do better, to carry our weight and see to it that our relationship grows! It's not the first international relationship to have a few foibles - so downsize if you must, but don't give up on us!
