This plane has been mounted in Pahiatua for the last 50 years, its our town icon. Its also a slide in the park, but as i have just seen in the local paper they are now replacing it with a fiber glass one.. I disagree with this as its one thing i enjoy about our town, the fact that they are now about to take it down and replace just doesnt feel right. There is no reason to why they cant take the slide and steps down and put a fence around the plane.. as i said its our town icon, to change it wouldnt be right. Lets keep our plane where it is.

Instead of the plane being replaced with a FIBERGLASS one i myself would much rather put money towards putting a fence around the one we have now, instead of it being a slide why not take that away and keep our plane, yes its 50 years old but why cant we keep our plane as is and make it off limits to be on.. instead of taking our town icon..
