Tape B in Toronto (#TapeYYZ)
The Issue
My fellow Canadians. As the cold of winter descends upon us, finding warmth in moments of joy and community becomes essential. We as people have a responsibility - nay - a destiny. A destiny to rise from the depths of our snow piles, and emerge, snow-covered heads held high, ready to throw down against the cold. That's where Tape B comes in.
If you're here, you may know Tape. Now, imagine Tape in the city's favorite venue, History, filled with the best crowd (destiny brought you together, remember), walls pulsing to a bass you can hear all the way down the street. Think of that song. You know the one. Feel the pulse. See the lasers. Go to that place in your head and come back when you're done.
You're back now? Feels incredible, right? Now forget that. Let the memory or the thought fade. Let the sadness kick in.
"Why?", you might ask. You might think I'm cruel for making you remember / imagine. Well here's the cold water. In 2026 we got no Tape B at Veld, No Tape in summer, and sadly, as of August, 2026, Tape has no plans to visit Toronto this year, not even to come participate in the city's premier winter music weekend, Stefffest, for my birthday.
Toronto, we as a city need this. Not only will it provide much needed bass therapy to help align our energy against seasonal depression, but it will also give Tape the chance to see he should come through more often to save the city, the city will love him for it.
We in the North will suffer these long months once the sun forsakes us, but that does not mean we must yield. We hold the line. And when Tape arrives, we ride for History. We will conquer the cold once again.
