Exactly two days after the tragic deaths of two lions (that died while being transferred from the Islamabad Zoo to a private farm in Lahore during the hottest time of the year), another Big Cat was mercilessly killed by (the so-called) zoo caretakes, who pronged and probed it with sticks, ignited a fire in the confines of the lion's cage, injuring, suffocating, burning and finally killing the magnificent creature.
In this case, even the word cruelty loses its meaning as this act was nothing short of sadism. It is high time action was taken against the notorious Islamabad Zoo and it is permanently closed with its animals sent to animal sanctuaries. The untrained, incapable & sadistic staff of this zoo, who have been known to consume meat provided for the animals, should be taken to task. The zoo's officials, from the highest to the lowest staff, should be taken to court as all of them are answerable to various acts of negligence or cruelty at the zoo.
Animal abuse, like many other forms of abuse, is about power and control over a helpless creature, which in this case was an animal known to be the King of the Jungle. By taking action against Islamabad Zoo &
and animal cruelty, we not only protect animals but may uncover and perhaps prevent additional crimes going on through this zoo. The only animals now left Please help stop all this by signing this petition.
