To begin saying, the side of the highway on 102 Bourg Larose Highway is an eye sore; local business Klondyke Hardware and Appliance Plus have to constantly deal with customers who complain about the "parking lot" which it is not really the parking lot it is in fact state property. The state has promised these businesses on multiple occasions to fix this side of the highway for customers and employees that have the drive through this part of the road being that it is the only entrance to these businesses, but these promises were never fulfilled. These businesses already have to deal with the loss of business due to the closure of the Company Canal Bridge and now we face the loss of business due to the state property that is not maintained. It is the state's responsibility to take action of this matter. It's the state's duty to protect local businesses. The people of this community demand safety for their property which is their vehicles that they have to drive in these pitiful conditions. The people demand protection for their lives also because the way the road is a recipe for disaster, and someone is bound to get hurt with the way the state chooses to ignore the situation. Today is the day for change and many people want that change for the better. We the people ask the state to pay attention to this matter and give us the satisfaction of safety and protection of property and life.
