We demand that Tandridge District Council take action to ensure the opening of Tandridge District swimming pools without delay.

People whose only form of exercise is swimming, those with physical challenges, the swimming groups, the Kayaking teams, the children and residents who love to swim have all been negatively impacted by the lack of access to the swimming facilities. These people are not only impacted by not being able to do something they love but in some cases, they cannot exercise. As regular exercise helps tackle one of the causes of COVID-19, it is vital that the pools reopen without delay.

Freedom Leisure have restarted swimming lessons but cannot restart general swimming due to a lack of support from Tandridge District Council. TDC are the only authority out of 19 Freedom Leisure serve, who have refused to give support. Hopefully, all of Tandridge’s councillors will support funding Freedom Leisure in order to reopen the Tandridge District swimming pools that are so crucial to local residents’ wellbeing.
