End Brahmin hatred in Tamil Nadu

End Brahmin hatred in Tamil Nadu
The Issue
For almost a century now, Brahmins have been hated and ridiculed in the Indian State of Tamil Nadu. Of late this has become accepted State policy. Brahmins have never been the cause of any harm to any of their brother Tamils and have in fact, contributed richly to the cause and culture of Tamil Nadu. Historically Brahmins all over India may have been an entitled community. They may have been in Tamil Nadu too. But histroy shows that they were never vindictive or venomous. In fact they have been considered timid.
Their timidity and ghettoised existence made them easy targets to certain elements in the early 20th Century to express a generalised anger against disparity and deprivation, which the Brahmins also suffered in the same measure as the other Tamils. To create a focussed movement, one needs a timid but apparently successful target - much like the Jews were in Europe at about the same time. Certain elements in whose names Tamil sub Nationalism thrives today identified Tamil Brahmins as the nominal enemy rather than a hundred other REAL enemies, and much like a frustrated husband who beats up his helpless wife, started targeting Brahimns in Tamil Nadu.
Eventually this became accepted State policy. This now needs to end. I beg all my Tamil brothers to sign and lend voice to my petition to consider Brahmins as fellow citizens and human beings.
