A securable area is required where the dogs can run and play fully, safe in the knowledge they are not causing a disturbance or issue to other people.

All dogs need to run in order to maintain a healthy body and mind and to assist in preventing illness and behavioural problems. Not all dogs have a perfect recall.  

A deaf dog may have no recall and as such would be subject to walks on a lead only. This is not suitable exercise for a lot of breeds.

A securable fenced off field provides the opportunity for Mans Best Friend to socialise, play and run without the constraints of being attached to a lead.

It also adds a safety aspect meaning that the dogs can not run into a road and cause and accident. ( Just because a dog is walked on a lead doesn't mean it cant pull into the road!) A secure fenced field eliminates this risk completely.

Tameside Council have recently announced that they are removing the gate from the ONLY securable field in the Hyde area that does not have a dog control order on it.

Dog owners of Hyde and the surrounding area's now have nowhere they can take their dogs to run & socialise off lead, that is securable and safe.

What Your Dog Needs:

“Play is an important part of getting along with people and other dogs, and although dogs will spend some time playing alone with toys etc., they should have regular opportunities for interactive playing.”

 What You Should Do:

 Provide your dog with regular opportunities for exercise and play with people or other friendly dogs.

Tameside Council have now made this almost impossible!
