Hyde park is a place where families young and old go and enjoy. They enjoy the woodland walks, the park itself, the bandstand and the lovely flower beds. That was until today, when they have been dug up and grassed over. It was only a matter of weeks since Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council tweeted about the park and the Tulips and how proud they were of this. This was not in any election address nor were the people of Hyde consulted. This is not the first time that Tameside Labour, once Councillors have been elected have taken something away from the people of Hyde. They can, however afford to spend £83,000 on a savings scheme for all 11 year olds in Tameside. They can afford to give a local football club £400,000 for a redevelopment project and spend millions and millions of pounds in Ashton. But not it seems to ensure Hyde Park is maintained to a beautifully high standard. Shame on them and shame on those councillors that knew about this and did NOTHING. Help the people of Hyde fight to return Hyde Park the last few of the shining lights of our town.
