We, the citizens of Tallahassee, reject the proposal by the Tallahassee City Commission to build a 60 million dollar Tallahassee Police Headquarters in the Southside Shopping Center.

We are against this so called "done deal" for many reasons.

First, if the plaza were to be demolished, businesses would be forced to relocate.

Additionally, it will remove important places of business that many employees and Southside residents travel to on foot. This would cause many to lose their jobs and access to the closest businesses. The South Side will be losing another grocery store, further contributing to food insecurity of the Southside.

Furthermore, Southside Tallahassee is a rent-heavy area. An increase in property values would lead to an increase in rent.

Therefore, we demand the City Commission stop this undemocratic process.
