Konami, Please Restore MGO2 Servers Indefinitely

Konami, Please Restore MGO2 Servers Indefinitely
The Issue
June 12, 2012, Metal Gear Online 2 Servers were shut down worldwide, much to players dismay, leaving behind over 1 million registered players.
Metal Gear Online 2, was built from the popular Metal Gear Solid 4 game. A game that Konami worked with Hideo Kojima on. Prior to this time, skillsets were recorded, matches were logged and friends were made. The way that it was built, made everyone enjoy it, even if they lost, because they knew if you tried harder, you could get better at it. The players however, were some of the best. I think it was the game that had an effect on them, because you very rarely could find an upset MGO2 player, even when you beat them multiple times, because they always bounced back. There was a strategy to the game, and it was clear. It favored players who wanted to gradually get better.
The game servers intially had a contract of up to 3 years, but another year was added to that, making it 4 years total.
After the new system launched in Fall of 2015, many fans responsed back after they had tried the online platform with their opinions to the development team.
However, much of those concerns, have still not been addressed. The next big update will be in March, and we feel it will address some of the issues, it will not address the bulk of them. We do commend them however for listening to the players, in fact, check out their Twitter. Hence, we look at MGO2.
So now we fast forward to today, the new version of the game, Metal Gear Solid 5 is out, with Metal Gear Online 3. The reviews are back from the intial opinion and well, it is nothing like it used to be. It has lost the addictive factor. We have nothing bad to say about the new series whatsoever, as we are simply glad the Metal Gear Solid series is still alive! While we certainly hope that will change, we see no reason why MGO2 cannot be brought back. Users are even willing to pay subscriptions to be able to pay their popular video game.
Playing this game is different than playing any other game, even the newer MGO3. You could literally hop onto your gaming console and start playing with people who you immediately start to bond with just because of how well the online system was built. Everything just flowed smoothly. This is a quality game that should stick around, to benefit both the company that made and the players that support it.
We are requesting that Konami restore the gaming servers for MGO2 Indefinitely. Users will be able to play from PS3 from their MGS4 CD or if Konami wishes, they could even add it on the PS4 console alongside the MGO3, giving the user an option as to if they want to play MGO2 or MGO3, to ensure people stay within the Metal Gear Solid community. We will maintain the high road throughout this process.
