With a heavy heart we regret to inform you that Nina, an integral and beloved part of our family, has passed away.   She was surrounded by love from her caregiver and veterinarians.

While we are overcome with heartbreak and grief, we are so grateful to all of you for your support and compassion for Nina. Because of you, she experienced love, freedom, kindness and dignity in her final years.  It's the gift that everyone who signed her petition gave her.  We hope you will  remember her the way we do, free, roaming around her field of dreams enjoying mud baths.

Nina taught us so much about perseverance and forgiveness and will forever be a source of inspiration for us.  A large memorial stone for Nina will be placed at the Elephant Memorial Garden at Wildlife SOS.  But to truly honor her, we must also persevere and continue fighting for India’s captive elephants.   Wildlife SOS is pushing for regular inspections of captive elephants so that the elephants can get the necessary help they need before it's too late.  Once again, you can help elephants by signing this petition: https://action.wildlifesos.org/page/121300/petition/1.

Let's continue to fight together for all the other elephants still suffering.
