The SS United States is one of the most recognizable and historically significant passenger liners ever built in the United States. Once lost, it can never be replaced.

As a supporter of historic preservation, I believe decisions involving nationally significant landmarks should be guided by transparency, public engagement, and a genuine effort to explore preservation alternatives before irreversible actions are taken.

Should organizations, sponsors, contractors, or destinations choose to support or profit from the destruction of the SS United States, I pledge to redirect my tourism, travel, entertainment, charitable, and discretionary spending elsewhere.

I will encourage others to make informed spending decisions and to support organizations that demonstrate a commitment to preserving our nation's history.

This pledge is not an act of hostility. It is an act of conscience.

I believe consumers have the right to support causes and organizations that reflect their values.
