Kaytee Clean & Cozy Bedding is extremely harmful to pets, especially small rodents like the adorable gentlemen above. His name is Squishy, he was my first and final hamster for I will never get another one in his honor. We decided to switch his bedding over to Kaytee Clean & Cozy (Lavender Scented) in response to not having a pet store near us that sold his original kind, thinking it would not be an issue. However one night as I get off work and play with him for a bit noticing he's acting weird like he is having breathing difficulties, the nightmare starts when I put him back in his cage and start to the kitchen to begin preparing dinner. I then hear my girlfriend screaming for my help, upon going into the room where Squishy lived I saw him in his cage violently flipping around.  He would flop around, try to get air, and repeat. We tried everything we could, and it only led to his lifeless body. Which I then had to bury him. Upon trying to figure out what could possibly harm our beloved pet we could only find one thing. LOADS of cases online of this product being harmful and killing pets, not just hamsters either. Lavender is a dangerous irritant and to sell it and advertise it to be "good" for these animals is perposterous and I am disgusted with this company and not owning up to their faults, despite a petition already being made by another victim of this loved one stripping stain of a product. There are even cases of the UNSCENTED version of this product killing innocent creatures. This must be stopped, and the evidence is out there. Please pitch in and help me take on this negligent company who made my adorable and awesome Squishy pass away violently and suffer. NO LIVING CREATURE DESERVES SUCH END.
