For years, my neighbors and I have experienced the dangers of navigating the hazardous, neglected roads in our community. The roads are riddled with potholes and loose gravel, posing serious risks to motorists, pedestrians, and even dog walkers. Drivers face the alarming predicament of dodging potholes or possibly steering into oncoming traffic. Pedestrians and cyclists are left to hobble around the loose gravel and large holes, risking injury.

More than just inconvenience, these conditions present life-threatening possibilities every day. According to a study by the American Automobile Association, deteriorating roads result in $3 billion a year in damage to vehicles and contribute significantly to road accidents (AAA, 2016). Yet, our numerous requests for road repair have been ignored time and time again.
