Recently there has been an increase in the number of dogs who are becoming sick or dying after eating chicken jerky treats that come from China. The FDA has put out a warning about these treats: http://www.foodsafetynews.com/2011/11/fda-repeats-warning-on-chicken-jerky-for-dogs/ and yet stores continue to sell these inferior and deadly products.
Costco has been one of the leaders in providing products that are safe and nutritious for our families and pets, and yet this practice has been compromised. Despite the hundreds of dogs who have fallen ill, or died, after consuming chicken jerky treats, along with warnings from the FDA, Costco still has on its shelves, chicken jerky treats which are made in China.
Until it can be determined what is causing these mysterious cases of canine illness and death, following the consumption of China-made chicken jerky treats, we are asking Costco to do the responsible thing and remove the potentially toxic treats from their shelves and replace them high quality, U.S.A. made treats, which are safe and nutritious for our pets.
Not one more dog should be made sick or killed by such negligence. We, as consumers, have trusted Costco to offer products which are of good quality and safe, and we expect this responsible, trustworthy marketing to continue.
