TAKE BACK OUR STREET

TAKE BACK OUR STREET
The Issue
Let me start by saying the 700 block of McMillen St used to be a beautiful street. All the neighbors sitting outside, talking to one another, kids playing in the street altogether, no trash, no cops, no trouble. It was somewhere we could be outside all hours of the night enjoying the peace and quiet and not have to worry for our safety.
Until Aaron, Melissa, & Liz moved into 739 & 737. It has been nothing but trouble. Cops here non stop. Their company knocking on other peoples doors or even trying to just walk in without knocking because they’re too high on Meth to know where they are. Cars blocking our ONE WAY street and when told to move nicely the first time they start screaming at the car who’s trying to get through. Both Aaron & Melissa have been found MULTIPLE times completely tweaking out to the point of ambulances having to be called. Just recently they sat in their house screaming profanities at neighbors while the neighbors were only trying to enjoy a beautiful day outside not bothering them. Their company causes problems every single day. Fights constantly.
Neighbors who have children are deathly afraid to let their kids outside to play or even walk to the bus stop. None of us who have well behaved trained animals can let ours outside because Liz’s dog is never on a leash and attacks people and she allows it to poop & pee on everyone else’s property.
The elderly people on this street who have been here 30+ years fear for their life and lock themselves in their home because they can’t handle all the fighting, music, shady people coming and going. One is contemplating selling their home and garage because of the trash living here now. Another gentleman who doesn’t bother a single soul just put in his notice that he’s moving. It’s SICKENING. And as a landlord, we as a neighborhood would hope that you can respect all of us enough to get them out of here and rent to people who do not have criminal or drug use backgrounds. We would like to be able to live in our own homes without fear and enjoy sitting outside again in peace.
