🛑Stop HB211: Hold Corporations Accountable for Toxic PFAS Chemicals!

We, the undersigned, strongly oppose Georgia House Bill 211 (HB211), a dangerous bill that would shield manufacturers, retailers, and waste handlers from liability related to PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances)—also known as “forever chemicals.” These toxic substances are linked to cancer, reproductive harm, immune system suppression, and organ damage, yet this bill would protect corporations from lawsuits instead of protecting the people of Georgia.

Why HB211 Must Be Stopped

🛑• PFAS are dangerous! They accumulate in the body and environment, causing severe health risks.

🛑• PFAS disproportionately harm Black women and communities of color, who are more exposed through personal care products, drinking water contamination, and occupational hazards.

🛑• PFAS are linked to cancer, infertility, hormone disruption, and birth defects—yet HB211 would make it harder for victims to seek justice.

🛑• Other states are banning PFAS—Georgia should be doing the same, NOT protecting polluters!

✊🏽✊🏼✊🏿 ✊🏻✊🏾We Demand Action:

We call on the Georgia Legislature to:

🛑1. Reject HB211 and refuse to grant immunity to companies that expose consumers to harmful chemicals.

🛑2. Ban PFAS in beauty and personal care products to protect public health.

🛑3. Ensure corporations are held accountable for the long-term impact of PFAS exposure.

4. Strengthen environmental protections to reduce toxic contamination in Georgia’s water and air.
