I have been in the Family Court system for 4 year (2016-present), in order to keep my daughter safe from a foreign national who married me under false pretence just to get into the UK.  For the two years we lived together, I was physically, mentally and financially abused by him.  Through the court proceedings, I learnt that he had murdered a young man at the age of 17 but bought his freedom.

My only goal is to protect my daughter's welfare and safety from this violent, abusive and volatile man.  I have always promoted contact but requested it be supervised because of the neglect and resentful behaviour he displayed towards my daughter and the violent abuse I suffered at his hands. He abandoned us both, when my daughter was 4months old, as he knew, fathering a child had secured his status in the UK.  The biggest regret I have is that I did not report my abuse as my mother was ill and died during the court proceedings but I do not want to make the same mistake when it comes to my daughter.

During interviews with Cafcass Officers, they have been condescending, derogatory, and have falsified information.  In my first Cafcass interview which lasted less than 20 minutes and it had only been two months since my ex abandoned me and my daughter I was emotional as my ex had threatened to take my daughter away from me as a punishment even if it took him a life time, but the Cafcass officer classed this as my inability to move on and questioned my mentality, but when my ex was emotional he was classed as missing his child.  I have been labelled as not promoting contact, I have had to prove that I am a sane human being because the Cafcass officer questioned my mentality and the residency of my child with me without justification.  Despite the fact that I have given them hard evidence they ignore this and make up their own.  I complained and learnt to my determent that they write Section 7 reports that damn you for protecting your child and recommend to the court that the child be placed in care from a loving and caring parent and home.  They took my right away as a mother to represent my daughter, instead, they appointed a guardian from NYAS who are equally corrupt.  My daughter has recently disclosed very alarming safeguarding issues about my ex to independent witnesses and to the Cafcass Officer such as being slapped, kicked, left in a locked room alone and in a car and public places, and being called fat. My daughter is refusing to see my ex, but Cafcass are refusing to accept her disclosures as safeguarding issues and ignoring my daughter's pleas for help and are endangering my daughter's safety by promoting contact and having no safeguarding measures in place.  They have recommended to the court that I am in breach of the court order even though I am taking my daughter against her wishes and distressed behaviour for contact with my ex even though I have statements from the contact centre that I am promoting contact.

When I made a complaint to Cafcass about the unprofessional conduct of their officer during my interview, their investigation found no evidence even though it was provided and I have now been told that their investigation is over and they will not respond to me.  Cafcass is a corrupt and unjust organisation that needs to be investigated and held accountable.  There are hundreds if not thousands of parents like me who are mistreated when they try to keep their children safe and get nowhere when they complain about Cafcass in order to protect their children.  Cafcass appear to be untouchable by anyone.  They need to be stopped and investigated to keep the 140,000 children they allegedly protect by drawing down more than £120m in public funds.  They do not put the child at the heart of the court proceedings, children's voices and their cries for help are not heard or their needs put first.  Cafcass openly expose children to danger and misinform the family court judges to make false decisions that put children in danger.  I totally support father's rights but if a father is abusive or is harming the child then how can anyone justify this abuse to continue.  The section 7 reports are biased and are based on the Officer's personal opinions and if they don't like you then you are damned for eternity.  I do not want my or any other child to be added to the list of children like Baby P or Daniel Pelka because of the incompetencies, neglect and personal vendetta's of Cafcass Officers and the entire organisation.  If you stand up to and challenge Cafcass' lies and corrupt behaviour, they tarnish your character and tie your hands behind your back because they know they can.  Children need to be protected from Cafcass more than anyone else, Cafcass should not be above the law.  They do not care about children their motto is false advertising and their Officer's and manager's conduct is unethical and unprofessional.  We need to protect our children no matter what from such organisations as Cafcass.  So please help me and thousands like me to keep our children safe by taking this matter to Parliament for Government to intervene because Cafcass do what they like because they are not accountable to anyone.  The law must change for the protection of our most vulnerable in society.
