I, like many of my fellow Americans, am a huge fan of Taco Bell. It's quick, convenient, and perfect for anyone on a budget. I especially love that the chain has a such a wide variety of vegan and vegetarian foods. Recently, I've been trying to be more mindful about waste and trying to cut down on the amount of disposable plastic I'm personally responsible for. I'm in the habit of bringing my own cup when I go out, and just yesterday stopped at a Taco Bell to take advantage of their happy hour. I handed the cashier my cup, which is very similar to theirs, down to the lid and the straw, and she informed me that they aren't allowed to refill reusable cups. This surprised me, as other quick service business like 7-11 and Starbucks not only allow reusable beverage containers, but encourage their use through discounts. I am calling on Taco Bell to follow this example and to make reusable cups available for purchase, as well as allowing customers to bring their own. Doing this would not only save them money, but would reduce their environmental impact on the oceans, fish, and wildlife. Sign my petition today and help me clean up our planet!
