Keep the Dr. Pepper Vanilla Float Freeze on the Menu
The Issue
On February 18, 2015, Tucker Attaway attempted to purchase a Dr. Pepper Vanilla Float freeze only to be told that they had not only been discontinued at the local Baton Rouge Taco Bell but were being phased out at Taco Bells around the nation.
The Dr. Pepper vanilla float freeze isn't just another fast food drink - it's become an icon of the Taco Bell franchise. Although many believe that a cold Dr. Pepper or ICEE is "similar enough" to replace the famous beverage, the consistency and exquisite taste of the freeze has not and cannot be duplicated by gas stations or bottling companies. The freeze is icier than an ICEE and more novel than a screw-top soda, we believe that Taco Bell is making a huge mistake by taking the frozen treat from its menus.
With summer quickly approaching and temperatures gradually increasing, the freeze will be missed by millions across the nation's hottest corridors unless Taco Bell management agrees to reverse its decision. Because motorists are able to purchase a freeze from the comfort of their air-conditioned cars in the drive-through, they are exponentially more convenient than other slushee products that require one to park and walk inside a store. The daily 2pm-5pm happy hours were perfect for college students and young professionals leaving campus or heading home from work; few things make a bad day more bearable like a $1 icy Dr. Pepper/vanilla float hybrid like the Taco Bell freeze.
Taco Bell may be trying to silently remove the staple from its menus across the nation, but citizens around the country believe that the drink is not only fantastic but part of the Taco Bell brand.
