Bring back Sister Schubert’s sausage rolls

The Issue

Sometime in mid-2021, the T. Marzetti Company discontinued the sale of the famous sausage wrap rolls, made by the Sister Schubert brand.

This news was met with shock and sadness by generations of families who had celebrated holidays, birthdays, graduations, engagements, weddings, births, and the lives of families and friends with a hot pan of soft yeast rolls wrapped around savory sausage links. No one knows the serving size of those sausage rolls, because no one could ever have just…. two, four, or ten of them.

This timing of this news was particularly cruel, coming right before Thanksgiving and Christmas. Breakfast on these most cherished of holidays is forever changed. Mothers and grandmothers across the country will no longer be able to count on the quality and convenience of these legendary delights to satisfy households full of family and those who might as well be family.

We, the undersigned, hereby petition the T. Marzetti Company to resume the manufacture and sale of Sister Schubert’s sausage wrap rolls.

Patricia “Sister Schubert” Barnes is a beloved daughter of Alabama, a state where food made with love is an art form. If you’ve ever been fortunate enough to be at the home of a dear friend or relative, in the South or anywhere Sister Schubert’s products are sold, on the morning of any of the events described above, you likely were served these deliciously addictive treats. If you haven’t had the pleasure, we simply ask for the opportunity to make some for you when you stop by.
