SYP Act Now

The Issue

This petition calls on Lauren Poultney, Chief Constable of South Yorkshire Police (SYP) since June 2021, to take a personal interest in the theft of Atc's compensation money and show that as Chief Constable she cares about those who were raped as children in South Yorkshire.

In short, SYP need to act NOW.

Atc is an adult survivor of horrendous sexual abuse as a child in Rotherham.

SYP have failed to prosecute the business man in South Yorkshire who defrauded Atc and stole the majority of the compensation money that Atc received and wanted to use to purchase her Council house.

SYP have also failed to provide the evidence they used to decide not to prosecute – evidence requested through a Freedom Of Information Act Request submitted on behalf of Atc (with her authorisation) on Monday 11 July 2022 (SAR Crime ref 14/25574/20 11.7.22).

Public Authorities are expected to respond to Freedom Of Information Act Requests within one month.

For more information read the fundraiser that has been set up to cover the costs of legal fees should a legal case be necessary. By Friday 4 November, donations to this fundraiser had amounted £1415.

IMPORTANT

How can there be no response after almost 4 months to the Subject Access Request: Monday 11 July 2022 for all of the evidence referred to in the undated letter from DI lain Martin - the evidence that DI Iain Martin claim was used to decide not to prosecute.
