Season 4 of the SYFY show 'The Magicians' exhibited extremely unforgivable and hurtful depictions of LGBT and mentally ill characters. The show has been renewed for a 5th season but it does not deserve to continue on, as well, it has been shown that the writers are willing to display dangerous narratives about suicide that can be harmful to mentally ill viewers. Cancelling this show would bring justice to marginalized viewers as well as protect mentally ill and depressed fans from potentially triggering content. We need to set a precedent that we will not accept this sort of treatment and bad writing. We need to start speaking up and stop television shows from repeating the same malicious and regressive storylines for LGBT and mentally ill characters. We need to let everyone know that this sort of behavior will no longer fly.
