Swimming with pigs was once a thrilling and unique experience in the Bahamas. However, the rise of copycat attractions has raised serious concerns from animal rights advocates. We are now calling for regulation, inspection, and limitations on the number of swimming swine attractions.

The trend of swimming with pigs started years ago when tourists noticed a group of pigs strolling along the beach of an uninhabited island. As the tourists approached in their boat, some of the pigs even swam towards them.

Unfortunately, at one particular attraction in Freeport, the pigs are confined to a small pen without shelter from the elements. Employees then throw them into rough waves as the excursion boat approaches the shore. This mistreatment of the animals is unacceptable.

Measures must be taken to ensure the well-being and fair treatment of these swimming swine attractions in the Bahamas. Animal rights advocates are right to demand regulation and oversight to prevent further mistreatment of these innocent creatures.
