As a result of COVID-19, hundreds of seniors will be missing out on ‘rite of passage’ events such as prom and graduation. The 2020 seniors of SWCSD have worked hard for twelve years. They have watched their friends and family members walk across the stage, and this year should be their turn. They deserve to have their name called in person and throw their caps into the air like so many students before them. They deserve their closure and final goodbyes before starting one of the most exciting chapters in life.

Possible options would be:

• Rescheduling for late July/ early August 
• Each SWCSD high school hosting their own graduation at their own football stadium
• Limiting the number of guests to 2-3 people 
• Spreading out the students’ chairs 
• Wearing masks/gloves

Many schools throughout Ohio have rescheduled their graduation to give their students that opportunity. School districts such as Westerville, Kent Roosevelt, Chardon, Westlake City, Archbishop Hoban, Willoughby Eastlake, and Perry Local are showing their students how much they care. Please sign this petition in order to give the students of South-Western CSD a chance for one last normal goodbye.
