Give customers a way to fully use their watch offline

Suunto watches are great. Unfortunately, the latest generations rely on a webservice to access some basic settings. There is no alternative to the webapp, which greatly compromises the user experience.
While Suunto's hardware is excellent, running a webapp requires a different skillset that seems to be crudely missing from the Suunto team: the webapp is highly unreliable, and it is slowly killing the Ambit value proposition.
Downloading and analysing "moves" is not time-critical, but accessing the watches settings before an event is.
We ask Suunto to give to their customers an offline application (like for previous models), or to expand the current Moveslink application, to allow accessing the watches settings and logs offline. That is necessary also when traveling, where an online connection might not be available, for example to upload route. Privacy-conscious customers will also appreciate the fact that they can use the watch fully without necessarily having their daily routes and heart rates uploaded to the cloud.
The application should:
- Allow the user to access all watch settings available through Movescount (sports modes including HR limits, intervals...)
- Allow the user to upload GPS routes to the devices
- Allow the user to download moves from the devices
Your well-meaning customers thank you.
