Bee Run has always been free access to the public. However, over the years the Sutton Lake, U.S. Corps of Engineers has slowly began throwing fee’s on a few activities, such as launching your boat into the water and fishing from the bank or fishing dock. Both fee’s should have NEVER been put in place. Both fee’s are absurd with the amount of $ boaters and those who fish have to pay for their boats and licenses!

Now the Corp wants to implement another fee and they want to charge $5 to enter Bee Run to access the beach swimming area and other activities.  If you don’t pay the fee and show the receipt on your dashboard you will be fined $40! And, they are putting in a credit card machine, because that’s all they’ll accept. They will NOT accept cash! The credit card machine will be located before you enter Bee Run! 

Folks…help us try to save Bee Run from being lost to the Corp and their fee! This will/can cause an economic hardship on Braxton Co. Tourist will stop coming when they can pay to go somewhere better in the state, and better maintained.  If you want it to stay the same (as free access) for all families to enjoy, for all kids to enjoy, for families to continue to have family reunions, and for folks/tourist from other counties/states to keep coming to Bee Run and to Braxton…please sign.
