Sutherland Saves Canada's Polar Bears

This petition had 2,838 supporters

We are creating a petition to submit to our local legislature to get our government into a discussion about protecting Canada's arctic and the animals in it - specifically the declining number of polar bears, and their imminent southern migration towards more populous areas of the country, which is not safe for the people or the bears. The only reason they migrate south is because the ice in our arctic, the polar bears' homes, is melting. We can prevent any further degradation of their homes by reducing our carbon footprint. Polar bears are currently classified as a vulnerable species, with only about 15 000 left in Canada. We love our polar bears and if we can in any way prevent the extinction of another beautiful local animal, we will.

By signing this petition, we hope you pledge to reduce your emissions and saving our polar bears by joining us in participating in a meatless day once a week!
