As an avid choir enthusiast and part of the Cheldelin Middle School community, choir programs hold a very special place in my heart. As something more than a subject, choir singing unifies us, enriches our soul, and provides an essential platform for expressing our creativity.

Unfortunately, these precious choir programs at Cheldelin Middle School are under threat of discontinuation. This move would rob so many students of the opportunity to explore their musical talents, build confidence, and learn essential teamwork skills. According to the National Association for Music Education, students who participate in school music programs are more likely to excel in other areas.

Moreover, research from a 2014 study published in The Journal of Neuroscience found that choir singing improves learning, self-esteem, and student's social life. Despite these proven benefits, still, our beloved choir programs are on the verge of being cut off.

It's time for us to raise our voices to save choir programs at Cheldelin Middle School. Let's join hands to keep the music alive and ensure a well-rounded education for all students.
