In the realm of baseball, the integrity of the game relies heavily on the fairness and professionalism of umpires. However, fans and players alike have recently been subjected to a disheartening breach of this trust due to the actions of Umpire Doug Eddings. His call on  Hancel Rincon have not only altered the course of crucial games but have also cast a shadow over the credibility of the officiating body.

Doug Eddings’s questionable decision on ejecting Hancel Rincon was outrageous. Hancel a rookie to  the MLB being ejected while Doug Eddings goes on a power trip is not tolerable. Umpires need to understand technology is so advance that the league does not need them. But we keep them as a sign of tradition.

Implementing a suspension for Doug Eddings will not only serve as a wake-up call but also reinforce the Baseball Commissioner’s Office's commitment to uphold the integrity of the sport. There must be a system to hold officials accountable just as players are. Accessible retraining programs should be instituted to help umpires refine their skills and keep up with the evolving nature of the sport.
