The Issue

Living in the Jamar Subdivision has been a challenge lately. Our tranquil neighborhood, which we once celebrated, has recently been plagued by repeated water line breakages and constant road maintenance issues. As a resident, I am deeply concerned for my family and neighbors who face regular disruptions in our water supply, causing significant distress and inconvenience as well as contaminations of our water supply.

Not only are these contaminations affecting the water, they are damaging our homes causing the contaminants and mud to backwash through our homes. This is causing damage to our septic, pipes, appliances and fixtures. Our water pipes are not buried adequately beneath the road and are pertruding out of the ground.

We estimate OVER 30 contamination and water outages to date this year.

For many of us, home is where cherished memories are made, where families grow and thrive. But the ongoing infrastructure issues are slowly eroding our peace of mind and compromising our quality of life. The roads in our community are in dire need of paving, and the frequent water outages make daily activities a struggle.

Not only are they causing disruptions, these contaminations are effecting and damaging our homes from our waterlines, sewage systems, water heaters, fridges and more.

The constant disruptions are not just an inconvenience; they pose a potential risk to safety and health. Imagine having young children without reliable water for drinking and sanitation or elderly neighbors who struggle with limited mobility trying to navigate worn-out roads. These are real concerns that resonate deeply with all of us here.

We believe that any further development of new homes in the Jamar Subdivision should be suspended until these critical infrastructure problems are resolved. Allowing additional homes without addressing the existing issues will only exacerbate the problems, leading to further strain on already struggling systems.

To restore our neighborhood’s basic functional utilities and guarantee the safety and well-being of its current residents, we request immediate action from the appropriate authorities to:

1. Conduct a thorough assessment and necessary upgrades to the existing water line infrastructure to prevent recurrent breakages and outages.
2. Implement definitive road maintenance plans, ensuring roads are adequately paved and maintained.
3. Enforce a temporary halt on new home development projects until these infrastructure challenges are satisfactorily addressed.

Our plea is simple: ensure that our existing community is habitable and sustainable before expanding outward. We urge local officials, utility companies, and relevant stakeholders to prioritize these concerns. Together, let’s make Jamar Subdivision a safe, reliable, and thriving place for current and future residents.

Please sign this petition to show your support in halting new developments until these essential infrastructure improvements are made. Our community’s well-being depends on it.
