Dear Friends, I have just started a new petition. As most of you have known, in 1965-67, millions of alleged communists were imprisoned, tortured and/or murdered in Indonesia. The criminals have still not yet been brought to court. Moreover, the regulation called Tap MPRS/XXV/1966 not only dissolved the Indonesian Communist Party but also continues to ban “the spread of the ideology and teaching of Communism/Marxism-Leninism”. This regulation maintains the stigmatization of the victims of the 1965 genocide, as well as of the victims’ families and descendants. This regulation can also be easily used to repress revelations about the truth of the genocide in 1965-67.
