Susie Forte HAS the right to share her victim impact statement
The issue
The issue..
Government Violence (GV) is every bit as harmful as domestic violence.
Tyranny feeds off silence!
Silencing of widow Susie Forte from speaking her victim impact statement at the Inquiry to the murder of her husband, Brett Forte. The authorities do not want the content within her statement to become public knowledge.
Labor Minsters opposing transparency and trying to stop the release of Crime and Corruption Commission public interest disclosure, about former Labor Minister, Jackie Trad.
Petitioned outcome..
1. Recognise and criminalise Government Violence as well as Coercive Control.
2. ENABLE SUSIE FORTE TO SPEAK! Widowed Susie should have equal and fair opportunity to speak her victim impact statement.
3. Queensland Police force and Queensland Government to respond with trauma informed care to Susie and others like her. They must put into practice the Queensland Government statement 'fighting for a fairer and more equal Queensland".
4. Ministers that actively choose to fail to fulfil their duty and obligations to the community, fail to act justly, must be stood down and formally held to account.
Reasons behind petition..
Fairness and equality is a right and expectation.
Given Hannah Clarke's parents were able to welcome the Queensland State Governments inquiry into police practices in domestic violence investigations and funding for new laws against coercive control, the gagging of Susie Forte comes across biased, unfair and unreasonable. It is viewed as an act of coercive control - Government Violence.
28 May 2022 its reported that Susie Forte, a Widow, mother of three and Queensland Police Service (QPS) Senior Constable, continues to fight 5 years on, to speak her victim impact statement at the Inquest into the 2017 gunning down of husband, Toowoomba Senior Constable, Brett Forte.
Susie Forte in her role as a domestic violence liaison officer reportedly brought colleagues attention to Ricky Maddison, prior to Brett's murder, because of threats made to a former partner.
If Susie and Brett's former QPS partner, Senior Constable Cath Neilsen, believe QPS culture and accountability contributed to his death, then compounded their grief by intimidation and bullying when raising questions, THEY MOST DEFINITELY SHOULD BE ENTITLED TO SPEAK at the Inquiry NOT gagged
9 June 2018, Annastacia Palaszczuk MP announced that a Polair 2 Police Helicopter was renamed after Brett Forte to honour him and yet, 2022 dishonour him by silencing his grieving Widow, children, family and colleague.
In 2020, it was reported that murdered Toowoomba policeman Brett was not made aware that his killer, paranoid fugitive Ricky Maddison, had uncovered a Gatton secret police surveillance operation into automatic weapons as he moved their letterbox surveillance camera days earlier. It is highly likely they knew.
Brisbane Times, 13 April 2021 published
"The counsel for widow Susan Forte, David Funch, read to the court a text message Senior Constable Forte sent to his wife a few days before his death, after she had asked how the manhunt for Maddison was going:
“Who knows, I’m in the B-Team, we get told zip.”
ABC News published on 12 Nov 2021,
- Counsel for several interested parties opposed Susan Forte's request to read her statement at the inquest
- They argued it contained "scandalous" and defamatory allegations against police officers
- Coroner Terry Ryan ruled the statement could not be published for at least one week
It seems likely there would be conduct considered a breach of Police Procedure, especially around Communication. What about Risk Assessment? What about timely and more appropriate actions regarding a dangerous man who was roaming freely about in the community. What about Code of Conduct when questions were raised afterwards able the preventability of his death?
Brett Forte's life had meaning.

ALL public servants, especially Ministers, are expected to adhere to and lead by example, the Code of Conduct which is underpinned by 4 ethics principles. The Public Sector Ethics Act 1994 affirms these principles are fundamental to good public administration.
The principles are:
Integrity and impartiality—being honest, fair and respectful, and ensuring decisions are unprejudiced, unbiased and just
Promoting the public good—delivering the programs and services that benefit the people of Queensland
Commitment to the system of government—respecting the government and its institutions and upholding the law
Accountability and transparency—taking responsible actions and making decisions that can be explained and easily understood.

Misconduct and corruption consistently happens to children and youth, First Nations, Elderly, and the vulnerable. Reprisal against those that speak up is violation of democracy, human rights and legislation.
We refuse to support, enable or tolerate #governmentviolence
This is non negotiable.
Australia is a signatory to the United Nations Human Rights and yet, there are continuous human rights violations here, by authorities.

Among the institutions most affected by corruption are the judiciary and police.
UN Goal for this month is Goal 16: Promote just, peaceful and inclusive societies.
Ministers that actively choose to fail to fulfil their duty and obligations to the community, fail to act justly, must be stood down and formally held to account.
What is at stake if the desired outcome does not occur?
Simple. Our freedom, rights and needs. Integrity, transparency, impartiality, accountability, fairness and equality. A democratic society. Human life.
