We need to hold violent criminals accountable and match the consequence to the crime or crimes committed. Too many times our judges are letting criminals have 3rd and 4th chances to re-offend. Those who take another life on purpose or cause massive bodily harm to another person should not get to live off of yours and my tax dollars in a prison system. Looking at social media seeing what people of our communities are posting and expressing has me and many other people that make up the state of new Mexico very worried for our future. Violent criminal mentality has led to many situations the most recent is the shooting and killing of Officer Daniel Webster. All of our police around the nation are being targeted as well as innocent citizens who are in support of our police force. This is just one situation there are many that involve other citizens who shoot and kill other people. We had a road rage killing of an innocent 4 year old in Albuquerque, New Mexico and many other crimes with people driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol or using their hands or items that they turn into a weapon to cause harm and murder those in the conflicting party. This is an issue and many criminals know in this state as well as 15 other states that have taken the death penalty off the table for criminals. These criminals have no chance at parole and shouldn't. They also do not deserve the accommodations to kill another human on purpose and get to live out the rest of their days in a cell and watch t.v. ect. With criminals knowing they wont die due to the crimes of killing this makes more criminals likely to offend and breeds a bad taste of citizens into our community. I am not asking for gun control I am asking for crime control. That when someone murders another they deserve the punishment of death. As well as true punishments for those of lower crimes they should not get 3rd and 4th times and no real jail time. I am asking that you help me push this to the front and make New Mexico a safer place by bringing back justice and a heavy punishment for the crimes that these criminals commit.

I am taking this to heart because these officers do a job that many wouldn't do. Officer Webster was also a combat vet and called to war. He left home away from his friends and family to fight when our government said they needed him. To protect the very freedoms we have here in America. To the little girl that was shot because of someone having issues with another on a road way. I am a parent my self to 2 young children and could not imagine the loss of my child. I have been an EMT as well as a 1st responder to crimes of every sort as well as every age from children to adults. Innocent people should not be killed and the criminal should not be allowed life and our tax dollars used to support and sustain their lives in a correction center. So I am petitioning to bring back the death penalty as well as calling for change and a more persistent justice system.
