Popular mukbang video creator Ssoyoung in just under 2 years has amassed 3.4 million subscribers and a whopping 393 million views on YouTube. Instead of using this massive following for comedy, education, spreading positivity, etc., she has utilized her platform almost exclusively for the purpose of abusing animals on camera. Ranging from eels, sharks, fish, shrimp, squid, and octopuses, she consistently demonstrates inhumane practices when preparing and eating these animals. For example, in a video of hers she prepares an octopus, one of the most intelligent creatures on the planet, by burning it alive on a grill. If someone were to do the same with either a dog or a dolphin, there would be international outcry and YouTube would swiftly ban her channel. However, when a fish is mutilated on camera, YouTube remains silent. Many of her followers slam critics of hers for being "xenophobic" or "culturally biased", but of course this is not the case. My goal is to, at least, have YouTube demonetize her channel, but if we are able to gain enough signatures, I'd like to have this channel removed for animal abuse. People should not profit from suffering.
