The Issue

If your disabled child or young adult will need specialist accommodation in Surrey within the next 5 years, please sign this petition to help us prove the urgent need for suitable homes.

We are The Surrey Forever Homes Foundation - a group of parents campaigning for appropriate lifelong homes for our profoundly disabled adult children in Surrey.

Why we need your signature: We are collecting evidence to present to Surrey County, Borough Councils and housing providers showing the real demand for quality local accommodation. By signing, you're helping us demonstrate that families like ours exist and urgently need housing solutions.

IMPORTANT: We are using your change.org registered postcode to confirm you are in Surrey. You can check what that is by viewing Settings and then General Information. This needs to be updated before signing.

The current crisis: Too often after education, our young people are offered unsuitable homes with much older residents in busy towns, in cramped properties, or isolated away from peers and family. The reality is that there is very little accommodation for those with more severe needs such as profound autism, severe learning difficulties and/or physical disabilities. Many cannot live in their own county and are forced to live miles away from loved ones.

Who should sign: Parent or Carers, in Surrey, who will need specialist accommodation for their adult children within the next 5 years.
Fanilies or Carers of those currently struggling with unsuitable placements.
Important: By signing, you agree that we may contact you in future to gather more detailed information about your family's specific housing needs. This will help us build a stronger case for appropriate provision.

Together, we can raise awareness and work with Surrey authorities and providers to address the housing crisis affecting our disabled youth.
