These attacks include Senate Republicans' efforts to weaken the Violence Against Women Act, federal and individual state initiatives to defund Planned Parenthood, and the proposal that any health care procedure that is objectionable to an employer be legally withheld from her employees.
The missing voices in all of these political efforts are those of the physician and the millions of American women who are directly affected. You have extensive experience in primary care in America. Additionally, you are a woman and a minority. You know what dire consequences can come from decreasing health care coverage for citizens, decreasing protection from domestic violence, and removing our options for controlling family size and population growth. We are asking that "America's Doctor", as our national voice on medical care, speak out to support us.
