From years passenger traffic had tremendously increased in indian railways.But Indian railways had expanded very very little infrastructure in issuing the paper/counter tickets to the passengers.They instead started IRCTC as a subsidary and issuing tickets online ,no doubt its an awesome intiative which helps people in avoiding long queues and saving time.At the same time its benefitting railways more in the form of saving money investment in infrastructure for reservation offices, salaries of clerkage staff ,electricity bills,network maintenance charges,immediate credit of money to their account etc....If both are having benefit and already railways included service charge/clerkage charge in the fare structure ,whats the need of this IRCTC service charge.If IRCTC is collecting service charge then what for the bank is charging service charge(which we usually dont see these  in mobile recharges and online shoping ,they have tieup with banks) ....I feel that these digital intiatives should be benitfull for passengers and shouldnt be a burden/expensive to them.As railways are collecting reservation charges (min 15/- for second seating) in their fare structure its their responsibility to abolish all these service charges and deliver the reserved ticket to the passengers either online or offline.If not possible to abolish IRCTC charges please increase your reservation offices proprtionately at feasible location to passengers all over INDIA and stop canvasing "DIGITAL INDIA"
