Request for construction of foot over bridge with esclators at Tambaram Sanatorium Railway Station. On behlf of the residents of Pradeep and Karthik Avenue, Chiltlapakkam who are regular users of this Station, I submit the grievances faced by the passengers for early redress.

We would like to bring the following facts for construction of Foot over bridge with escalators at Tambaram Sanatorium Railway Station. The existing Subway at the station is not having the capacity for passengers Entry / Exit during peak hours and due to congestion at subway commuters cross the railway lines putting their life at risk to avoid the rush at the subway. This station has become a major public transportation hub and due to exponential urban growth of this locality the subway is not sufficient to fulfill this need. Major facilities with high population near the Station are listed here for your perusal.

Madras Export Processing Zone (MEPZ) is a Special economic zone spread over an area of 265 acres, the zone employs over 50,000 people of various IT firms like Cognizant Technology Solutions, Gislen Software Private Limited, CSC India Ltd, Infinite Computer Solutions, New age software and solutions Pvt Ltd, Horiaki India Pvt Ltd, etc.,.

National Institute of Siddha Hospital the institute is an autonomous body under the Department of AYUSH with prime aim for research in Siddha medicine, provide holistic medical care through Siddha. On an average, more than 3000 patients are being treated in out-patient department every day.

Government Hospital of Thoracic Medicine, Chennai or Tambaram TB the hospital is the largest AIDS care centre in the country, catering to about 300 patients are being treated in this hospital.

Combined Court Complex, Tambaram -This complex houses the Subordinate Court, District Munisf Court and Judicial Court of Tambaram.

During rainy season this subway is flooded, some times upto to 5 to 6 feet of water. This subway is only legal way to enter the station. Hence, during inundation passengers cannot enter the station. With no legal way to enter the platform, passengers are forced to cross the track illegally and putting their life to risk which is already covered by your Newspaper. Hence we put forward the need for the construction of Tambaram Sanatorium Railway Station Foot Over bridge with Escalator arrangements at the earliest.
