Dear Mr. Minister of Civil Aviation,

Point of calls in Bilatereal Air Services Agreements (BASA) and the special ASEAN BASA are discriminating people in various cities by providing foreign airlines services to only a few select cities forcing people from other cities to travel by several hours to near by airports even though they have an international airport in their own city.

May I request to remove all POCs from all BASA and Sepcial ASEAN BASA and Control the foreign airlines by total number of seats and let them choose which airport (immigration and custom facility) they want to fly to.

Enforce City level traffic reciprocally i.e. if a foreign carrier is flying two services from an airport then Indian carriers shall at least fly one service from that airport before the foreign airline can start a third service from there.

There is a gross mismatch in several airports where these foreign airlines far far exceed the number of Indian airlines services. Some airports just handle ONLY foreign carriers without even a single service from an Indian carrier.

By removing all point of calls in all BASAs and in Special ASEAN BASA, all eligible cities will have a level playing field for growth depending on their inherent potential rather than having arbitrary rules to herd people to other airports. 

It will also help to plan airports where they are actually required rather than building bigger and second airports based on the artificially created traffic
