The title husband is not a ticket to rape a women. We need to understand that women are not slaves that you get to possess under the name of marriage. They just like every one else have the right to live her life, right to be free and the right to be treated as humans.

I mean, it's not rocket science. A man who forces a women to have intercourse against her will is rape, irrespective of who he is to her, whether he is a husband, boy friend, friend, cousin, brother, uncle or even her dad for that matter. Rape is rape.

It’s 2020 and India remains one of 36 countries where it is not a crime for a man to rape a woman — as long as they are married. The Indian Penal Code, 1860 also communicates the same. Section 375 defines the offence of rape with the help of six descriptions. One of the exception to this offence was “Sexual intercourse or sexual acts by a man with his own wife, the wife not being under fifteen years of age, is not rape”

Let stand together against marital rape. And to criminalize marital rape.
