An appeal to all my brothers and sisters of all the communities and religions.

We are equal in all respects. Sikh religion is an amalgamation of teachings from all the religions. Gurugranth sahibji has a reference of Sant Kabir, Farid, Ramayana, Geeta etc. Sikhism preaches secularism, equality, humanity and dignity for women. Fundamental right to religion under article 25 of the constitution gives freedom of religion to every citizen.

You are requested to recognise that bullying and ridiculing through sikh centric jokes is violating article 25. Constitution gives equal protection of laws and equality before law to all the citizens under article 14. In the landmark judgment of Keshwanand Bharti , the Hon'ble Supreme Court has laid down that fundamental rights are an integral part of the basic structure of the Constitution which can never be curtailed or violated. To live with dignity and to continue Sikh identity without an attack through ridiculing jokes, websites and sms is your fundamental right.

Therefore I make an appeal to you to understand your fundamental rights and your legal rights to go the courts and law enforcement agencies for immediate action against any violation of your rights.
