Urgent Appeal: Take The 200 Asante Children Back To School

The Issue

About four months ago, an Austria-Kenya based NGO, which was offering support to orphans and needy children in Kilifi County was abruptly closed due to the heartbreaking demise of its founder Mr.Franz Ferrari. This tragedy shattered the link between Kenya and Austria sponsors, leaving more than 200 innocent children without access to education due to the lack of school fees.

As someone who rose from a humble background with the support of an NGO and bursaries, I very well know how education can transform someones’ life and how the negative impact the lack of it can have on the very life.

Presently, these 200 children are facing the distressing reality of being unable to consistently continue their classes. This prolonged absence from the classroom is taking a toll on their educational progress and future life prospects.

Seeing the dreams and aspirations of these children fritter away breaks and bleeds my heart. We cannot and should not let this happen. I have therefore started this petition to call for urgent action from the Office of the Governor in Kilifi County to help get these children back to school.

Please sign my petition and join me in appealing to the County Government of Kilifi to write letters to schools directing for immediate admission of the affected primary school children back to classrooms and allocate bursary to the affected high school and college students.

An investment on these children in an investment on their families and the communities at large.
