The way the citizens representative is not able to change anything is that the organization (WorkplaceNL) does not have to follow the law. They get injured workers to sign the form 6 which has a contract. That contract says you agree to them managing your claim under the WHSC Act. The issue is they break contract law the second they do not provide the application process as the act declares has to happen. The government breaks the law because there is suppose to be a CEO and board of directors under that act. So, EVEN if the organization existed as your manager, there needs to be two boards of directors. The one as it stands now is NOT allowed to be paid by the injury fund. And the Minister has to be the Minister responsible for Injured Workers and the WHSC Act. The organization should have ZERO Minister associated with the government.
The government in NL has to legally immediately remove the Minister responsible for WorkplaceNL as that is NOT a government responsibility actually.
They have to either choose to keep the Board of Directors and force WorkplaceNL to get their own OR get a whole new Board of Directors that have NEVER been associated with WorkplaceNL! The later would be most acceptable and professional. The government has to tell WorkplaceNL that they no longer have access to government money or injury fund money and those paid by WorkplaceNL would have to accept that WorkplaceNL has ZERO ability to pay them!
The Minister of Injured Workers would then protect the injury fund, create a commission that puts injured workers first.
The only way WorkplaceNL can survive then is to find a revenue source to become managers for injured workers and/or employers. While also charging for the other services they currently offer.
WorkplaceNL has put a POOR taste in the mouths of so many, best they just close down!

Will you ensure this law is followed immediately? This is spoonfeeding you! Which should not be needed! Do you not have lawyers at your disposal to have told you or other Premiers this a long time ago? And if they did not, why did they not? And if they continue to deny this as truth, then how are they able to keep their license to practice law to any degree?
