I am a civil activist from Afghanistan who has been pursued and threatened by the Taliban. After escaping with difficulties from Afghanistan, I am now a refugee in Pakistan. In this country, neither the United Nations office provides meaningful support to Afghan refugees nor does the Pakistani government allow refugees to live peacefully. Moreover, Afghan refugees are occasionally arrested and deported contrary to immigration principles. This same situation applies to Afghan refugees in Iran as well. The United Nations states that 2.7 million Afghan refugees are registered in Pakistan and Iran, but this number is likely underestimated as many refugees are not legally registered and correctly counted. These refugees need international support as they cannot return to their home country due to life-threatening conditions and are at risk of exploitation and deportation by these governments.

Let us object to this unjust situation and call on immigration-receiving countries to expedite and facilitate the process of transferring and providing asylum to these refugees. Additionally, with this protest, we can pressure the governments of Iran and Pakistan to uphold the rights of Afghan refugees. Please sign this statement to fight against this issue.
