Lifting the unfair and discriminatory ban on Native American Graduation Stoles

The Issue

Recently, there has been a ban to block all Native American Students from wearing their Native American Graduation Stoles (an example of one is shown in the photo at the top of the petition).  This is oppressive, and mirrors aspects of discriminatory behaviors . These stoles were bestowed upon Native American High School graduates within Cumberland County Schools whom completed multiple Community Service Projects.  The stoles were a symbol of honor to our young people for all of their hard work, and for giving back to their community. Now, this honor is being kept from our students, many of whom are presently feeling downtrodden due to the ban of these stoles.

These stoles gave our students a sense of belonging and identity. Thank you in advance for your signature and support.
